Iberia's New Long-Haul Menus for 2026: What's Changed
Iberia just updated its long-haul menus from Madrid. Passenger-favorites return to business class, Premium Economy, and economy.
Iberia refreshed its long-haul menus from Madrid on July 6 — bringing back passenger-favorites in business class and Premium Economy, in addition to adding more options in economy.
Iberia announced a menu refresh for its Madrid based long-haul departures. The update covers all cabins and applies to flights departing from Madrid-Barajas. Here's what's changing.
Business Class
The menu brings back some of the cabin's most requested dishes. Starters include a salmon tartare with avocado, pickled vegetables, radish, and berries on horseradish cream. The main course is grilled beef tenderloin in its own juices with potato gratin and seasonal vegetables. Dessert is a chocolate tartlet with hazelnut praline.
The fact that Iberia is explicitly bringing back dishes passengers rated highest rather than rotating in new ones for novelty's sake is a good sign. It suggests the food program has enough data behind it to know what actually works — and the willingness to repeat winners rather than change for the sake of it is something a lot of airlines don't do well. Iberia's long-haul product out of Madrid has been underrated for a while. The food has been part of that story and this refresh keeps it going in the right direction.
Premium Economy
Premium economy will see the return of braised beef cheeks with glazed carrots, broccolini, and white bean purée. Iberia states that this is one of their most requested meals - a good sign for the dish and for how Iberia is listening to passenger feedback.
Economy
Over the past few years in the United States, we've seen an onboard burger battle with airlines like United, America, Alaska, Delta releasing their take on the meal.
Iberia is bringing this to economy with a beef burger with Café de Paris butter, peas, sautéed green beans, and potato mousseline. The second offering will be meatballs in romesco sauce with Padrón peppers and potato gratin.
The Madrid Lounge This Summer
If you're transiting through Madrid airport before a long-haul departure this summer: both the Dalí and Velázquez Premium Lounges are serving Magnum mini ice creams through September 15. I first spotted this a few summers back and thought it was a great touch on Iberia's part.
The Velázquez will be going a step further with an ice cream cart on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through September 13.

Final Take
I have travel out of Madrid planned for next year and am looking forward to seeing how the new menu lands. I'll report back when the time comes.
