JetBlue Premier Card adds companion pass credits, 25-tile Mosaic bonus, $300 travel credits, and 15% redemption rebate. Annual fee stays at $499.

JetBlue and Barclays announced today a set of enhancements to the JetBlue Premier World Elite Mastercard, arriving later this spring with the annual fee staying at $499. The additions are meaningful for frequent JetBlue flyers who are already working toward Mosaic status.

    What's New

    Companion Pass Statement Credits

Cardmembers can now earn a companion pass worth up to $500 after $15,000 in calendar year spend, and a second pass worth up to $1,500 after $75,000. Using the Companion Pass credit is straightforward: book your companion's fare on the same reservation, pay with the card, and receive a statement credit after both of you travel. No separate booking required. This differs from other airlines which require calling reservations or contacting group sales.

It is worth noting that the $75,000 threshold for the second pass is a high bar for most people. However the $15,000 tier for a $500 companion credit is reachable for those using the Premier World Elite Mastercard as a primary card.

    25-Tile Mosaic Status Bonus

Another enhancement is the addition of annual Mosaic tiles. Each calendar year, cardmembers receive 25 tiles toward Mosaic status at the start of the year. This puts cardholders halfway to Mosaic 1 status before they've taken a single flight. For JetBlue loyalists who are close to Mosaic but not quite, benefits like this can close the gap.

    TrueBlue Travel Statement Credits

The card also offers up to $300 in annual statement credits when using the card for hotels, car rentals, and cruises through TrueBlue Travel. It's a reasonable offset against the $499 annual fee.

    15% Redemption Rebate

Cardmembers will also receive 15% of TrueBlue points back when redeeming for award flights on JetBlue or partner airlines. Combined with the existing 10% redemption bonus card feature, this provides a meaningful boost to those redeeming their TrueBlue points. If you're also a Points On Repeat Trailblazer subscriber, these benefits can stack up to a 20% refund on your award redemptions.

    ClassPass Credits

Finally, we're seeing more lifestyle benefits added to premium credit cards and JetBlue is no exception. Coming later this spring, Premier cardmembers can enroll for up to 14 monthly ClassPass credits for fitness classes and wellness experiences.

BlueHouse Boston Is Coming This Summer

The announcement also includes a reminder that BlueHouse - JetBlue's lounge at JFK T5 - is expanding to Boston Logan Terminal C later this summer. Premier cardmembers with eligible fares get complimentary access for themselves and a guest. The space will join the Chase Sapphire Lounge and upcoming Amex Centurion Lounge as some of the latest premium lounge options at BOS.

Is the Premier Card Worth It Now?

At $499, the card needs to deliver around $500 in tangible value to break even before the travel benefits factor in. The $300 TrueBlue Travel credit, a $500 companion pass reachable at $15,000 spend, and the 25-tile Mosaic head start, provides enough value for most regular JetBlue fliers to 'break even'. Add BlueHouse access and the redemption rebate and the case gets stronger.

The card launched last year and these are some meaningful enhancements. Best of all, Barclays and JetBlue have added benefits without touching the annual fee - something rare in today's world of increasing annual fees.
