Stumptown cold brew, Louis Roederer champagne, and a new international business class wine program. Alaska and Hawaiian's full summer drink refresh explained.

Stumptown cold brew debuts, a new international business class wine program launches across both carriers, and Hawaiian introduces a Main Cabin wine line with a cause. Alaska's summer drink update is worth paying attention to.

Alaska has long been one of the better domestic airlines when it comes to food and beverage. Between offerings like the Tillamook burger, the Salt & Straw ice cream, regional sourcing is a key part of their catering program. It's probably no surprise that the drink side of things follows similar logic. Today's announcement includes a broader summer beverage refresh across Alaska and Hawaiian that's worth knowing about.

    Here's everything that's new.

Stumptown Cold Brew — Now In-air

Alaska has served Stumptown hot coffee for a while. The new addition is Stumptown Copilot Cold Brew - a small-batch cold brew made with ethically sourced beans. It's exclusive to Alaska, meaning you can't buy it in stores, and it's available on select domestic routes over 350 miles.

The offering will be complimentary in First Class and Premium Class and available for purchase in Main Cabin.

The International Business Class Wine Program

The bigger announcement for premium travelers is a new international business class wine program rolling out across Alaska and Hawaiian long hauls this summer. The three offerings leading the lineup include:

    • Louis Roederer Collection Champagne
    • Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Armillary Cabernet Sauvignon
    • Paul Hobbs Russian River Chardonnay

This is a strong selection that will no doubt elevate the premium experience on international routes.

    Smith Teamaker and Straightaway Cocktails

Two smaller additions to the international program include a new tea program from Smith Teamaker, a Portland-based tea brand, and Straightaway cocktails. Pre-made craft cocktails can be hit or miss, but Straightaway is a well-regarded Oregon producer.

    Hawaiian's Tide & Vine — Wine With a Cause

Finally, Hawaiian is adding Tide & Vine wine to the Main Cabin. A portion of proceeds goes to Mālama Maunalua, a nonprofit restoring Maunalua Bay on O'ahu Hawaii by removing invasive algae. It's a fitting partnership for Hawaiian.

    The Bigger Picture

Alaska pays more attention to the drink cart than most US airlines, and it shows in the choices they make. The summer refresh continues that pattern and adds some exciting enhancements to their international product.

If you're flying Alaska or Hawaiian this summer, the drink program just got considerably more interesting.
