AA Lounge Dining Gets a Major Upgrade in 2026
American Airlines just upgraded dining across Flagship and Admirals Club lounges — new menus, action stations, QR ordering, and better wine. Here's what's new.
New menus, action stations, QR-code ordering from your seat, and better wine. AA just pushed a meaningful lounge dining upgrade across both the Flagship and Admirals Club networks.
American Airlines has been on a consistent premium push for the past two years now. We've seen the launch of their new Flagship Suite cabin, onboard wine and champagne refreshes, free wifi, and more. This recent announcement adds lounge dining to the list, and it's more substantive than the usual "elevated culinary experience" press release language. Even more exciting is that these changes apply to both Flagship Lounge and Admirals Club locations.
Here's what's changing.
Flagship Lounges
The biggest changes are happening at the slightly more premium Flagship lounge level, which makes sense, as they compete directly with Delta One and United Polaris lounges.
The additions include:
"Action stations" like a cheesemonger cart delivering a selection of cheeses to passengers. Interactive food stations like this are a little less common in airport lounges, but something we're seeing more of.
QR code a la carte ordering from your seat. AA piloted it at the Philadelphia Flagship Lounge and it was well received enough to roll it out systemwide. These menus will rotate seasonally and offer a similar experience to that which American already provides in their JFK SoHo lounge.
Additional a la carte small plates. Small plates are continuing to be a popular option across many lounges. It certainly elevates things versus the typical buffet style offerings. Dishes include a roasted carrot and whipped feta salad, stir-fried pepper steak, pineapple carpaccio, and a toasted coconut banana brûlée parfait.

Wine. It's no surprise the ongoing premium wine refresh that AA announced earlier this year continues in the lounges.
Here are the location-specific new dishes rolling out this month:
- DFW: Watermelon cucumber feta salad, pineapple carpaccio
- ORD: Ham and egg chive waffle
- LAX: Thai basil and chili crispy shrimp
- MIA: Citrus-rum shrimp
- PHL: Sour cherry cheesecake
Admirals Club Lounges
The Admirals Club changes are less dramatic but still provide some meaningful upgrades. With their larger network versus Flagship Lounges, these enhancements will be among the more visible.
New enhancements include two new hot items joining the menu. The charcuterie selection also gets an upgrade, which means less of those sad looking cheese cubes that they typically provide. Finally Veuve rosé and Caymus cabernet sauvignon are now available for purchase.
Here are some of the new location-specific dishes:
- DEN, ORD, STL, YYZ: Lemon herb chicken and mac and cheese bar
- DFW, AUS, IAH, BNA: Chipotle lime chicken
- MIA: Coconut turmeric chickpea and vegetable curry
- CLT, RDU, DCA: Build-your-own breakfast tostada
- LAX, PHX, SNA, SFO: Rustic zucchini and flame-roasted corn
The DCA breakfast tostada bar is the one I'll be looking for.
The Broader Pattern
It's worth considering what AA has actually done in the last year or so: a new Flagship Suite cabin, wine program refresh, Starlink on 500+ narrowbody aircraft starting next year, and now a lounge dining overhaul across both tiers.
This is a clear push to make the premium experience meaningfully better across every passenger touchpoint. For a long time the knock on American was that it far lagged behind Delta and United. These moves look less like catch-up and more like a deliberate attempt to lead.
Of course the true test will be rollout. But the direction is right. If you're flying through an American operated lounge in the coming weeks, keep an eye out for some of these new enhancements.
